HANSは、京都で祖父の代から続く染色整理工場を背景に生まれました。

技術革新により均一な物を大量に生産する事が容易になった一方、
職人の感覚や経験に支えられる伝統技術や手仕事は日々失われていっています。

HANSは失われつつある伝統技術や手仕事にフォーカスを当て、余白のある洋服作りをしています。

余白とは、一点一点に宿る個体差と、着る人の時間と個性が少しずつ染み込んでいく間のことです。
伝統技術に裏付けされた手仕事や天然の原料だけが生み出せるその揺らぎの中で、
服はやがてあなた自身の一部となり、あなたという個性をより鮮明にしていく。

HANS was born in Kyoto, rooted in a dyeing and finishing factory passed down through generations.

As technology has made mass production of uniform goods easier,
the traditional techniques and craftsmanship supported by artisans’ intuition and experience are quietly disappearing.

HANS focuses on these vanishing traditions and handwork,
creating garments with ma — a space of openness and possibility.

Ma is the individuality held within each piece,
and the interval in which the wearer’s time and personality slowly seep in.

Within the subtle variations that only handwork and natural materials can produce,
a garment gradually becomes a part of you — and in doing so, brings your own individuality into sharper focus.
